A TimeMap is an interactive graphic showing change over time. The graphic is linked to descriptions of the change being shown.
The TimeMap of World History covers human history at different levels, building into a comprehensive atlas of world history. At the top level, a timemap shows the history of the world. This is the backbone of the atlas. Hanging off it is a set of timelines showing the history of the major regions of the world. These then provide structure to timelines covering the histories of individual countries or sub-regions.
We also have a growing range of Topic TimeMaps which take a closer look at historical topics. They include animations, images and rich text to help create the full picture and provide a new and stimulating way to learn about history.
