A set of standards to drive the Scottish Government’s ‘mygov.scot’ online platform has been released.

The document runs through the minimum standards required when delivering a “citizen-facing, online service”.

It outlines 21 criteria that should be attained in creating the service, including the source code being open source and reusable; disaster recovery; data-driven; plus a series of KPIs to measure its performance.

Other standards include a requirement for the digital service’s environmental impact to be understood over its whole life cycle. Cloud computing or virtualisation are the preferred approaches to the delivery of data hosting for the service
